… Sylv\u00e8re s’est consacr\u00e9 activement et professionnellement \u00e0 son art depuis la fin des ann\u00e9es 1970, apr\u00e8s avoir travaill\u00e9 dans le domaine de l’imprimerie, des arts graphiques et de l’architecture. Oeuvrant de fa\u00e7on s\u00e9rielle, il se situe en dehors des modes, \u00e0 partir d’une intemporalit\u00e9 voulue et affirm\u00e9e qui fait se rencontrer l’abstraction moderne et les r\u00e9f\u00e9rences pari\u00e9tales de la pr\u00e9histoire. De grandes toiles cohabitent avec des oeuvres sur papier dans un rapport mutuel de construction, de concurrence mais aussi de compl\u00e9mentarit\u00e9. Il se positionne, en partie, dans l’histoire de l’art du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l’informel, refusant donc de repr\u00e9senter des formes reconnaissables et classables comme certains artistes tr\u00e8s connus se r\u00e9f\u00e9rant \u00e0 cette notion tels Bryen, Dubuffet, Fautrier, Hartung, Tapies, Wols, etc… L’utilisation de ces techniques mixtes aboutit \u00e0 des oeuvres extr\u00eamement fragiles, somptueuses et \u00e9nigmatiques… (Christian Skimao) L’exposition, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e au Mus\u00e9e des Arts et M\u00e9tiers du Livre de Montolieu, permet de d\u00e9couvrir des oeuvres sur papier de Sylv\u00e8re, notamment des s\u00e9ries PAB\/Macule (en relation avec Pierre Andr\u00e9 Benoit), Arch\u00e9ologie (en relation avec Michel Butor), G\u00e9ologies, Terres (en relation avec Guillevic)… Sont expos\u00e9s \u00e9galement des ouvrages qui \u00e9voquent les liens de Sylv\u00e8re avec des po\u00e8tes et des
